A
Growing Concern For McLean County Youth
Rising
juvenile gang activity, crime rates and adolescent drug abuse are
social and economic problems that affect school-age youth today.
Even in McLean County, where the employment rate is one of the best
in the state, over 200 students drop out of school annually. Although
a large percentage of those who graduate from high school go on
to further education, a much lower percentage actually complete
their programs of study.
Can
we define a more positive future for our youth? How are resources
in our community being used to better support students, parents,
and schools?
